๐ŸŒบ Forget-Me-Not Friday (Idea No. 11)

Hey there Reader

I'm back with another Forget-Me-Not Friday idea!

I'm also back from my trip to Madeira with my husband (we had a lovely time even if we did miss the Northern Lights making their appearance back home lol)

Anyway, this week, I thought I'd change things up a bit. In this series so far, I've shared various ideas for embellishments and ephemera.

But I've been feeling a little nostalgic about some of my earlier journal covers, which involved having fun with patchwork...

First up are these sweet little notebooks I made using the "Franken Paper" technique, which I think originally came from Nik the Booksmith.

These were fun and easy to make and are the perfect way to use up some of those scraps lurking around your craft space. Here's my process video to show you how I made mine.โ€‹

But you can also use this same technique in other ways. Such as the time I covered a chocolate box with cardstock scraps to create this cute little journal cover:โ€‹

Seeing as we're talking about patchwork, I also wonder how many of you have seen the very first full-sized journal I made back in 2021.

Let's just say I had a lot of fun with scraps and colour... check out this blog post for a flip through video and photos.โ€‹

One more thing...

Some of you might've noticed my website has had a little facelift this week.

I probably still have various kinks and whatnot to work out with it, but I hope you agree it's looking a lot more "me" now. I also hope it'll be easier for you to find what you're looking for.

And I look forward to writing some more blog posts very soon. As always, I have a bunch of ideas, so stay tuned for those...

Speak soon,

Justine xoxo

Journal covers with tassels

Hey there Reader Happy Friday! I hope you're ready for another Forget-Me-Not Friday idea? This week, I want to go back to some basics and talk about tassels, spine dangles, spine jewellery, etc, which look a little like this: Now, there are lots of ways you can make these. But a few years ago, at about 3 in the morning, I discovered a super simple way to make them. Since then, I've been making my tassels in the same way every single time. You can see my exact process in this video. I really...

Envelope folio and matching notebook

Hey there Reader It's me, hi, I'm back in your inbox again with another Forget-Me-Not Friday idea! So far, I've shared a lot of ephemera ideas (you can see all my previous emails here). But this week, I wanted to do something different. Sometimes, we need a mini project to sink our teeth into - especially when we're lacking in mojo for a large project or simply because we have leftover papers and supplies to use up after completing a big project. Anyway, this mini folio and matching notebook...

Junk mail envelope pockets

Hey there Reader Welcome to another Forget-Me-Not Friday email and idea! I hope you're looking forward to the weekend? I am because I'm going to be starting my Enchanted Woodland folio journal and I'm super excited about it. There's going to be lots of windows and flip outs and secret spots inside it, so stay tuned for that. For now, though, I wanted to share something inspired by window envelopes, which is where these simple yet super pretty junk mail envelope pockets come in. Here's the...
